What does the Wisconsin Disability Vote Coalition do?


The WDVC helps create and build political power among Wisconsin disabilities community by:
  • Encouraging organizations to conduct local get-out-the-vote drives and outreach.
  • Educating the disability community about voting rights and access issues.
  • Letting elected officials know that people with disabilities are voters and a growing voter bloc.
  • Increasing voter turnout among people with disabilities and their allies.


  • What is WDVC planning for 2008?

    The WDVC will be focusing on several key areas in 2008:
  • Publicizing its grants programs and providing grants to groups and agencies for localized GOTV activities.
  • Encouraging more people in the disabilities community to vote in November of 2008 through phone calls and printed materials.
  • Developing and disseminating information about candidate positions on disability issues.
  • Continuing to build a statewide database of disability voters, currently 25,000 names and growing.
