3. Encourage and support businesses that hire people with disabilities.

4. Refer to school service to assist mother in getting medical assistance, in home care or home health care plus a volunteer guardian as a backup in case the mother becomes ill.

Network with social services to see what is available to help with transportation ; if all else fails, go into the community and church groups to see if some community minded organization will help out; usually a neighbor will come forward or local clinic group…persist until the problem is solved.

6. I plan listening sessions in the various communities and making myself easily accessible.

Personal: I practiced as a registered nurse for 50 years which included hospital, nursing home, consultant, and NH administrator; and retired in 2006 and have been working in the “Inclusive Program” for special needs clients from the local YMCA (see enclosed door card). As a registered nurse, I networked with many organizations to assist.
